Need for Singles Ministries

Why yet another singles ministry? It’s a known fact that many  singles feel slighted when it comes to having their needs and questions answered in a traditional church setting. This was the whole reason why we created this site in 2006, back when online Christian Dating was taboo, and married couples in the US outnumbered singles. However according to pew research, there has been a dramatic shift. Since 2015, single adults now outnumber married couples, and their needs have only increased.

So if you are looking for anything singles-related, this category is for you. Oasis Singles is dedicated to singles of all stripes, whether they be single parents, Millennials, teens, baby boomers or Generation Xers.

Here you will find all types of articles and dating advice on every topic of interest to singles of all ages. The Christian singles articles are interactive, so feel free to comment.

5 things men and women find attractive

The Top 5 Ways Christian Men and Women Differ on Attraction

The Top 5 Ways Christian Men and Women Differ on Attraction Christian men and women often differ on attraction in five ordinary ways. Men tend to notice physical appeal first and then character. Women often notice character, steadiness, and spiritual leadership first, then find the physical appeal grows. Attraction can arrive fast for one and slowly for the other. Disrespect kills it for both, but in different places. And a shared faith is attractive, but not in the same way.…
5 dating mistake men make the first month of dating

The Top 5 Mistakes Christian Men Make in the First Month of Dating

The top five mistakes Christian men make in the first month of dating are performing a godly image instead of being known, rushing emotional or physical closeness, staying vague about intentions, hiding behind texts, and treating her like a project. The first month is not a covenant. It is a test of steadiness. A man who is clear, kind, and unhurried in those first weeks is easier to trust than a man who arrives with a sermon and a timeline.…
why singles worry more about money than dating

Why Many Christian Singles Worry More About Money Than Dating

Many Christian singles worry more about money than dating because one person is carrying the whole load. There is one paycheck, one rent payment, one emergency, and no second income to absorb a bad month. Dating can wait a week. Rent cannot. That is why money stress often outranks the search for a spouse, even among believers who still want marriage. The worry is not a lack of faith. It is the math of a single household. Church talk can…
how to know if you are ready to date again after breakup

The Top 10 Signs You Are Ready to Date Again After a Breakup

You are ready to date again after a breakup when the last relationship is a chapter, not the script. Ten signs point that way: you can name the loss without reliving it, you are not dating to prove you are over it, loneliness is uncomfortable rather than urgent, you have told the truth about your part, your ordinary life has a pulse again, friends see steadiness and not a rebound, you want a person rather than a painkiller, comparison has…
top 5 habits that quietly kill Christian dating relationships

The Top 5 Habits That Quietly Kill Christian Dating Relationships

Most Christian dating relationships do not die in one dramatic fight. They fade under five quiet habits: using spiritual language to avoid clarity, keeping score and calling it discernment, letting the phone replace presence, turning a date into a project, and moving a boundary one small exception at a time. None of these looks like a breakup on Tuesday. All of them make Friday colder. The good news is that quiet habits can be replaced before they become the story…
The Top 5 Questions to Ask Before You Say “I Love You”

The Top 5 Questions to Ask Before You Say “I Love You”

Saying “I love you” is one of the most tender sentences in a Christian dating relationship, and one of the easiest to rush. Before you say it, ask five questions: Do I love who this person actually is? Have I seen their character when it costs them something? Are we walking in the same direction of faith? Can we tell the truth and still feel safe? And am I saying this to give love, or to secure the relationship? If…
improving communication skills with dating

4 Tips for Dating Couples to Improve Their Communication Skills

Poor communication is one of the most commonly cited reasons dating relationships and marriages end. Couples rarely blow up overnight. They stop hearing each other, reply too fast, and slowly grow apart. If you want to improve communication in a dating relationship, you do not need a complicated system. You need a few skills you can practice on an ordinary Tuesday night. This guide covers four communication tips for dating couples that actually change the tone of a conversation: listen…
what men and women find attractive

5 Ways Christian Men and Women Differ on What They Find Attractive in the Opposite Sex

Attraction is not as simple as a checklist. Christian men and women often share the same core desire: a godly partner who loves Christ, lives with integrity, and can build a faithful life together. Yet the way that desire shows up is not identical. Scripture presents men and women as equal in dignity and different in design. Those differences do not create two separate gospels. They do shape what tends to draw the eye, hold the heart, and sustain interest…
How to Honor the Body Without Idolizing It

How to Honor the Body Without Idolizing It

The Christian life has always lived in tension when it comes to the body. On one side is neglect—treating the body as unimportant, unspiritual, or even suspect. On the other is obsession—making appearance, fitness, youth, or physical desirability the measure of worth. Both miss the biblical vision. Scripture does not tell believers to despise the body or to worship it. It calls them to honor it. For Christian singles, that tension is often especially sharp. Dating culture rewards physical presentation.…
5 reasons you can't get over your ex

5 Reasons You Can’t Get Over Your Ex

Getting over an ex is rarely as simple as time passing or deciding to “move on.” For many Christian singles, a past relationship continues to occupy the heart long after the relationship itself has ended. The memories linger. The “what ifs” return at unexpected moments. Comparisons quietly shape new interactions. Even when the mind knows the relationship is over, the heart can remain entangled. This experience is more common than many admit. Scripture never treats the human heart as something…
reasons single guy is unmarried

4 Reasons That Keep Christian Singles Unmarried

Many Christian singles deeply desire marriage. They pray for it, long for it, and sometimes wonder why it has not happened. While God’s sovereignty and timing remain the ultimate framework for every life, Scripture and pastoral experience also reveal patterns that can contribute to prolonged singleness. These patterns are not always the full explanation—some faithful believers remain single for reasons only God fully knows—but they are common enough to warrant honest examination. Looking at these reasons is not about assigning…
self control

Why Self-Control Is the Most Attractive Quality You Can Develop Right Now

In a culture that celebrates impulsivity, self-expression without limits, and the immediate fulfillment of desire, self-control can appear outdated or even repressive. Many Christian singles feel the tension. They want to be attractive—emotionally, spiritually, and relationally—yet the prevailing messages around them often equate attractiveness with confidence that borders on entitlement, emotional intensity, or curated vulnerability. Scripture offers a different and far more enduring vision. Among the qualities that make a person truly compelling, self-control stands near the top. Self-control is…
